Q:What is hydroxypropyl acrylate be used for?

A: Mainly used in the manufacture of thermosetting acrylic coatings, light-curing coatings, photosensitive coatings, textile treatment agents, adhesives, paper processing, water quality stabilizers and polymer materials, etc. It has the characteristics of a small amount of use, but can significantly improve the performance of the product. It is used as a cross-linking monomer for acrylate emulsions and solvent-based adhesives. It is also used as a reactive diluent for light-curing adhesives. It is also used as a cross-linking monomer for quick-drying acrylate water-based laminating adhesives, which can significantly improve cohesive strength and bonding performance. The presence of vinyl and hydroxyl groups allows the copolymerization of acrylates with vinyl monomers as well as di- or polyisocyanates, anhydrides or epoxides. It can be used to produce adhesives, thermosetting coatings, fiber treatment agents and modifiers of synthetic resin copolymers, and can also be used to prepare lubricating oil additives, etc. Hydroxypropyl acrylate (HPA) is also a (iso)bifunctional monomer with a wide range of uses. HPA is used in fiber processing, which can improve the water resistance, solvent resistance and wrinkle resistance of fibers, etc.; HPA can be cured together with vinyl monomer copolymers and amino resins or isocyanates to prepare thermosetting coatings with excellent performance. HPA is copolymerized with vinyl monomer to form an adhesive with strong bonding strength; HPA is copolymerized to obtain acrylic synthetic rubber, which shows good heat resistance and oil resistance; coating the surface of paper with HPA latex can improve the water resistance of paper sex and strength. HPA can also be used as an additive for lubricating oil. In addition, HPA is also an intermediate in organic reactions and an excellent solvent.
